I recently purchased some cabin air filters from Pureflow, for my 2004 C230 Kompressor Sport. I watched a few videos and thought I knew the locations and procedures fairly well. Naturally, the under-the-hood filter was installed without a hitch. However, when I inspected underneath the passenger side panel, behind the glove box, a large block of foam seemed to occupy the space where I should install the cabin recirculation filters. I'm attaching a photo for reference. Does this particular model have only the under-the-hood filter? Any insight would be much appreciated, thank you.
Your car has the single zone climate control system. Dual zone was an option for C230, and standard for C320. Only the dual zone has the additional filters you are referring to.
The other giveaway is that you have an analog climate control panel with a bunch of dials. The dual zone cars have a digital display down there.
FYI they now sell activated carbon versions (aftermarket for sure, not sure if they're available at the dealer) of the cabin air filter (the one under your hood) for a few bucks more. Does the same job basically. The interior carbon filters were honestly a gimmick.
