O2 sensor OR Lambda Sensor....whats the difference ?

I just got a CEL for the right upstream O2 sensor. I go to my link for the EPC and discover there are possible options. One is for the O2 sensor (0035427118) ....BUT.... the item (#300 on the exhaust page in the EPC) also lists the "Lambda Probe" ( 0045420718 ) for downstream left and right. Significant difference in price with the "Probe" much less.
What is the difference between these 2 sensors ? Aren't they both O2 sensors ?
PS...any insight into how to correctly remove this (upstream right) sensor would be greatly appreciated....it looks like a real dog. Any links to the WIS for the procedure?

Thanks
