Power Steering Hose Replacement

Good afternoon All. I am trying to replace the High pressure Power Steering hose on a 2004 C240 4Matic. The issue I am having is removing the E12 torx bolt on the rack. Is there a trick to getting the socket on there? There is a heat shield that seems to blocking access. TIA.

**UPDATE** I was able to get the bolt out and the hose taken off. BUt it seems like the part I took off is different from the one that all sites have as the Part #. Did MB change the design of the hose from the OEM hose??

For E torx bolts you can use box end wrenches, I wasn't able to get a socket onto it either. No idea about the hose, I needed only a new O-ring.

Thanks for replying. I was about to finally get it off. MY issue now is the routing path of the hose. I have been using WIS to try to get a picture or diagram and have found nothing showing the path the new hose travels. This is the new hose. Just looking for a picture from someone or somewhere that shows how the hose is positioned in the engine bay

This is the hose i took off

Every site i have searched has given my the new hose number and part.

Must be some special for the 4matic, I don't have a banjo bolt at the pump.

No its not like that. It definitely has a banjo. Im not sure if MB changed the style due to OEM routing subjects it to being sliced by the pulleys due to how close it is. The new style seems to remove that possibility of it hitting the belts of the pulley. Just hoping for someone to post a picture of it on their vehicle
