Cruise control/acceleration problems
Yesterday on a 5 hr round trip, there were 3 occasions when the cruise control spontaneously quit (guess thats a lot better than it starting on its own...) Any others experience this?
Also, occasionally after stoppoing at an exit ramp, then accelerating and turning, there is a sudden power loss--is this esp kicking in?
BTW- for the 5 hour trip, much of it on cruise control, the average speed was 58 (this accounted for the city section, highway speeds were all 62 or 72) the mpg was 28.6, per the computer.

Yes, 3 weeks ago on a 800km trip (Newcastle to Brisbane for those that know) my CC cut out 6 time in about 10 minutes, before this it had only done it twice in 6000km of driving.
Went in to service center and diag. a faulty brake booster sensor, also ties in with the BAS/ESP fault warning that occured sometimes.
New sensor goes in Wednesday so I'll just wait and see if it happens again after that.

I had a similar problem with the cruise control...but my accel set would not work at all. They replaced the cruise control. Up to the time that it just quit, I did not have any problems with the cruise cutting out. It just stopped working.

I have this problem too
My CLK240 just started cutting out Cruise Control while im doing 80mph , 50mph, 40 mph - took it into merc this morning and took the engineer out in the car and happily it cut out while he was in it! Im picking the car up at about lunch time - I wonder what he'll come up with as the cause?!?

certainly keep us posted as i'm sure many of us are curious, just the thought of this happening is kind of scary
