CRANK BUT NO START.

2006 mercedes c230, 170k miles. one day it turns on fine, i parked the car, turn it on later on and doesn't want to start only crank. i left the car alone for 3 hours or so, and tried it again and it started up. it was fine for the rest of the night, and the next day till night, i parked and turned it off, left the car for 5 mins. came back turn it on, turns on fine, put it in reverse, then i let go of the brake slowly, and it started dying on me. i wanted to turn it on again, and it was cranking really weak, i messed around with the fuel pump relay and it started cranking "normal". now it just cranks and doesnt want to start. gas tank is half full, no smell of fumes, no visible leaks, no sounds in engine. only codes popping up are these.

Guessing your fuel pump died. Crank but no start is the most obvious symptom. This is assuming you didn't do anything else to the car recently. I'd look there first.

The pumps start to die at the 200k km mark. Sometimes they die intermittently (letting it cool down or hitting it with a mallet may cause it to "work" again), but usually they go instantly. I'm assuming you're on the original pump.

W203 fuel pump replacement Note that the pump is on the R side of the car. The L hatch only contains the sending unit, which is basically just a fuel gauge with hoses attached.

I barely thought of that after a quick test yesterday. i sprayed starter fluid into the engine and it turns on completely fine. no noise in engine, everything sounds fine. cranking also sounds "fine", not weak etc. does this usually mean its the fuel pump 100%?

Pretty sure it's the pump. Let us know if this fixes the problem.

Hey bro!A w 203 with m271 engine came to my shop with the symptoms of the fuel pump being faulty.I replaced the fuel pump the car started fine but it turned off.It came to my attention that the fuel level was low.I topped up the tank but the car cranks and still wont start.
do you have any tips for this issue, also DAS show so error codes.
thank you in advance!

A dead fuel pump doesn't throw codes. Most likely culprit. What's the mileage on the vehicle?

The other way to check - use a fuel pressure gauge on the shrader valve on the fuel rail. It's accessible after removing the engine cover.

The fuel pumps tend to fail after 200k km.
