328 ci bmw sports coupe
New Here...bmw Owner......

Hello all,im currently driving a bmw 328 ci with full sports spec and every extra possible incl sat nav tv teletext.
Im going to sell my car as the petrol consumption is ridiculous,if i have a buzy week i can spend up to £150.
So ive decided to sell even though i love my bm.

im thinking of buying a 230k coupe with sat nav.Can anyone tell me what the quality of sat nav is like plus the ride in a 230k,also does the sat nav have tv?

Another thing, when i go to bmw the customer service is amazing and they do absolutely anything to help but i went to mercedes the other day and the smell of arrogants in the air was horrid. The customer help was poor.Whats it like when you take ur car in for work under its warranty?

Thanks

Welcome to the forum.

Wouldn't you get better answers about stealers and their service from a UK MB forum than a US forum? It seems that most what we read overhere about US BMW stealers is worse than MB stealer. But then again this is afterall a MB forum.

Maybe some of our other UK members will chime in.

BTW
It pays to search this forum as it provides a lot of info including installation of EURO parts. Also we have a sponsor that is right across the pond from you, Steve = MBenzNL, in case you are looking for good deals backed by demonstrated impecable service, installation, and a warranty.

don't know about the navigation system in the UK because i'm in the US. My brother has a BMW X5 with navigation and he said that system requires you to acknowledge the warning message by clicking the accept button to continue using the service. On my C320, the warning message would go away by itself after about 5 seconds. I love the dvd navigation on this car. I don't know why more people don't consider getting it.

Welcome to the forum.

Im from Croydon and I have had nothing but problems with the local branch which used to be knowen as Brunswicks, now locate on the Purleyway.

However their is one guy down their I have had a few chats with and now we have a good understanding.

For parts I highly recormend mercedes of Redhill they are really great down there for part numbers etc.

As for purchasing I bought my clk and c coupe from Mercedes Tooting and the sales guy Mark Burgess and he is really great.

Tooting are really helpful and i feel they will go the extra mile for you.

Thanks

Neil

post pic of the 328Ci...

mine was a 2000 topaz 328Ci...sport/premium loaded, but I didn't have the nav or the parktronic tho.

oh yeah, you can add a TV receptor for the Comand system. It's an option for many countries I believe. If not, you can contact Steve/MBenzNL on the forum. He sell the parts and does all the installation for a lot of people on this board.

also, correct me if i'm wrong, I thought the C230k is only available in the U.S. and Canada. Europe only has C200k.

Youve got a pretty nice ride already!

The 05 C-Coupe is great! New suspension and new interior are very nice! You'll love it. Make sure you get the pano roof, C7(I think its called Evolution in the UK) and BiX. I'd go the extra step for the C320 Coupe though...the C230 with the 1.8 doesn't have the grunt that the old 2.3 SLK engine did. Over here in the states the two are only a few thou apart in cost, I'd go with the V6 hands down now.

nice ride love the Mtechnik bodykit. Sad to see it go, but I can understand why you want a more fuel efficient car. The 328 isn't exactly fuel efficient consider it only has a 2.8 liter.

Hope you'll find what you need in the new car

If all youre after is better mileage, go with the C30CDIAMG Coupe, or just a regular CDI Coupe. I think they get mileage in the 40s.

Absolutely agree with Outland. The C30 CDI AMG Coupé is definitely a classic in the making. I so wish these had made it to US shores, along with the C32 AMG Coupé. Had to settle on the C320 Coupé, because the 1.8L C230 Coupé did not have enough HP or Torque for my taste.

I didn't know this was a "US" forum - I thought members from all over the world participated here.

While members of MBWorld do include people from Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan as well as Zambia, Zimbabwe and Zaire, I think what amdeutsch was trying to say is that this forum is US-based and the majority of members are also US-based. But by no means does that mean that non-US members or potential members should pose questions or start threads. Quite the opposite. It's always nice to know what our MB counterpart car models are doing in other parts of the world, and what problems or issues they are facing.

I can't think of the names right now, but there are 2 or 3 Mercedes-Benz forums based in the UK, whose membership (predominantly British islander) can better answer questions posed by UK Mercedes owners.

I just don't think this forum caters too well to MB owners outside of the US, because it is US-based and US-populated. That's all !
