the new c class sound system is a piece of crap
within the last 2 weeks my "upgraded" h/k sound system gives me that damn crackling crappy noise about 6 times. i have no idea why i paid so much money for this sound system because i think im just going to take it all out and put a whole new system in.. also my left speaker sounded like crap until i had to tape the trunk button down, which is a careless and stupid mistake for mb and now my right one sounds like its blown to and ive never put the bass level beyond 3. and on top of that i always get the crackling sound. i am starting to regret this purchase and its gunna be hard to get a new system because no recievers fit the dash. i am extremely dissapointed with MB..right now i cant wait for the new 3 series to come out in 05 so i can get that when my lease is up in 06

my H/K speakers were replaced three times, yep dont put the bass over 3, on the system. Also there is a design flaw with the system, becuas E Class has another port for the front speaker near the pedals, since this could nto be done in C, it might be causing some problem's with the rattle.

He is talking H/K; not BOSE. 2 years ago the H/K didn't exist in the C-class.

yea but im not complaining about the sound quality when it actually works im just saying for a 35,000 car and to add on a mercedes u think thats the speakers would at least work. i bet the tl, tsx, 3 series dont have this kind of problem. even 20,000 dont have this problem. and if u cant put the bass over 3 then why have it go up to 10 im just really frustrated with this and the worse thing about it is that its going to be extremely hard getting a new system that actually looks good in it down here in south florida

i drive them all, fast and hard
is the HK system with and without NAvi/command the same,
meaning do they have the same audio features, just bass, treb, fad, bal, and stereo --> surround,
or does the command verrsion have midrange, etc, other featres,

so MSRP = $45,765 - 3% discount = $44,378 before tax and license.

what other differences does it have besides navi and cd text
and with navi, can u track yourself in real time, like with lexus, o r do u have to put in a destination and then u can follow along

if you entered a destination, you would hear voice instructions and the screen would show the exits, streets where you should turn. If you want to go home, press the home button, and the system will tell you how to get home. there are pre-programmed Points of Interest like restaurants, amusement parks, etc... it's very cool.
when i ordered the car, I thought I would have to pay a monthly fee to use GPS navigation. I was wrong. the fee was already included in the price of the dvd comand navigation. there's NO monthly fee.

pic 1 - where the car is at right now according to GPS.
pic 2 - you press eject to access the dvd navigation drive and audio cd drive. dvd navigation drive is the top drive, audio cd drive is the bottom drive.
