No spark after replacing magnetic cam sensors and clearing codes
As the title said I’m in a dilemma.
So last week the car (2006 c200) started running really rough at idle. It was fine while at road speeds though.
I got it scanned and it showed a fault on the intake side sensor, the mechanic said that it was a straight swap for a new part so I replaced both intake and exhaust.
Fired it up and it still ran rough at idle. A neighbour suggested clearing the codes and then trying again.
He cleared the code but when I tried to restart it cranked but did not fire.
I refitted the old parts (just in case the new ones were the problem) but it still refused to fire. Scanned for codes but none showed up.
Checked the plugs and there was evidence of fuel reaching.
Tried leaving the battery disconnected over night to see if that changed anything.
checked all visible fuses etc and all seem ok.
I’m at a loss as to what to do now. It seemed really strange that it died after the codes were cleared.
could this be related? Could it cause a problem if he plugged in the scanner with ignition on?
any help would be much appreciated as I’m due to start moving house next week😬
