Citron - congrats on your new toys, love the pic updates. I especially like the phone, too bad there isn't anything for the PalmOne Treo 600. I was actually surprised to see SMS working also.

Heard this past weekend was busy, since there was a lot of installs for Steve. Also, Steve probably enjoyed the warmer weather, considering we hit him with snow his last day in Chicago.

Well, good luck wtih the mods and keep us posted.

yeah, well it was freaking cold. i dont know, in the 50's is cold to me. plus it was raing pretty much all day staurday, and watching steve install in the rain it quite a site. congrats on your toys.

steve was quite busy, esepcially on saturday. there were alot of scheduled installs. plus all the troubleshooting they had to do on my car, i thought i was going to drive away disappointed, but i didnt. steve is the man!!!!

im pleased with the SMS capability. i dont think i can send SMS though. only read. which is fine. im still learning all the quirks. the best is VR. though i need to study that a bit more. ive programmed several names for calling. i can change radio stations, and cd's and tracks with ease. its the little things, that are still getting me. when i say something and it says cancel. i need to learn what to say and what not to say. its all good.

I think I will consider it. I sent you a PM with another question, so check when you have a chance.

Citron, everything looks great as usual!! You guys have me kicking around the UHI, but there is other stuff I need first. I could have used the split mirrors this morning when I had a motorist sitting in my blindspot and I almost cut in front of them.

BTW Citron, 50's is perfect weather to us Mid-West folks.

nah, i cant fit anymore in my signature. i have a maximum of 500 characters. things that arent there are COMAND upgrade, MB Sirius and Tire pressure monitor. multicountour seats arent on there either, but im getting those with the CLK heated/vented seats. i am nearing completion though. distronic is a little much for me. though i am kicking it around, i'll see.

i dont have the AMG kit yet. i wanna do the COMAND upgrade first and Sirius as my next mod. AMG kit will be sometime next year. i want to do CLK seats before that though. i keep rearranging things. AMG door trim though i want soon, or as soon as steve can get it.

I have the phone and TV already. The climate control didn't work. There doesn't seem to be much that can be done to the G class. If you hear of anything let me know! I'll stop by next time if I can. Still trying to convince a couple others to take the leap on some upgrades.

Maybe Steve can put a COMAND in my 1966.............

i cant figure that out. i go to the little arrow, then over to SMS. if there are no messages in my phone, it just says, no messages. if there are messages i can read them, and then delete them. there is no icon to reply.

Erwin, thanks for the thumbs up...it wouldn't have been possible without you. If all US hosts were as active in communicating with everybody involved with a parts trip, my sister would be without work...

Douglas, Who installed your comand (I know it wasn't me)?...being able to SEND SMSs is a variable setting that can be (de) activated with stardiagnose...
Sunday was less busy indeed (and a lot warmer/dryer outside) which is why I asked you to come back to have the phone and PTS thing figured out then.

Dimitri, unless the dealership goes into the comand related screen with the variable TV settings in their stardiagnose, there is no way they can mess anything up...and IF they ever mess up, we can reprogramm the comand again (which requires the comand to be send over though)...

greetingz,

Forgot to mention, now that I have the folding mirrors but more importantly the convex mirrors, the passenger side mirror now has auto dim. If you remember, auto dim was only on the driver's side mirror and interior rear view mirror. Steve pointed out that this auto dim was one of the cool features of having the convex mirrors, of course in addition to seeing your blind spots. Now all my mirrors are auto dim, that's really cool.

Interesting... Not sure about newer models, but '2002 CL203 is not prewired for autodimming function on the passenger's side. Wonder when it was added..

Strange... WIS (both functional diagrams and schematics) shows only driver's side autodimming. According to the wiring diagrams, in order to add autodimming to the passenger's side, the right door control module needs to be replaced - I guess with a "driver's side" DCM from a RHD car (?). Also, additional wiring is required to connect the mirror to the control module. Does Steve offer this kind of conversion?

Most cars in USA with memory seats are alrady equipped with a fully optioned door control module on both doors so the simple addition of the extra wires and the new mirror will get auto dimming on the passanger side also.

Rats! My WIS is lying Is your version showing this or is it just a "silent" option existing but not reflected in WIS?
