Brake light switch location?

Brake light switch location?
I’m currently trying to locate the brake light switch on my w203 c240 following an BAS/ESP code on the dash. All the youtube videos show the same spot but I’ve looked high and low and can’t see it. I saw one video that said it was located in the engine near the brake booster but I’m not sure.
Note: I can’t get the tray under the steering wheel completely off because my bonnet/hood release doesn’t rotate enough to push it through. this could be why I can’t see the switch.
If anyone knows where it is in my model I would appreciate it, I’m no contortionist so this isn’t fun when I can’t find what I’m looking for 😭
UPDATE: I disconnected the bonnet release handle completely and took the tray off, which revealed the pesky little thing. I changed it and I pray I never have to access that compartment again.
