C160 Odd cutting out whilst driving
The car is a 2005 C160 Coupe auto with 109000 miles on it and have been semi recovered by a local firm after the engine just died doing around 60mph.It wouldn't restart but after the recovery guy towed me about 500 ft to a safer location, I tried it again and it started. Drove it about 15 miles home with no problem. My mind starts remembering a similar thing happening a couple of months ago when it also cut out around 3 miles after the fuel reserve light came on which I thought rather strange as usually you can drive a lot further than 3 miles before you run out of fuel! Anyhow, on this occasion I poured 5 litre's in the tank & it started up straight away so didn't give it any more thought other than not to trust the reserve light. With both situations of cutting out, I'm wondering if this is a faulty fuel pump?
The car has half a tank of fuel in it and apart from a P2029 code and esp which I'm aware of, there are one other code shown. Voltage when running is between 13.8v & 14.2v.
Any thoughts on this would be really welcome !

purchased for ~$20 from Harbor Freight. Had to put plumbers tape on it to seal.
I don't know what diagnostic tool that is, but my iCarsoft will read the fuel levels in EACH tank.
Sending unit replacement is a pain in the butt. Make sure nobody is smoking cigarettes or an electrical
stuff than can spark, or even clothes that might have static and keep the air flowing through the car.
Also zip tie as many of the connections as is possible. They can pop off.
I know this from experienceon my fuel pump.
PS what the heck is a C160? Does it have an M111 engine or variant?
