Nothing MB related (sorry)
Just wondering... didn't you buy a complete self installation kit? There would be no need to ask those questions if you did.

If you look on my website I have the MB installation guide with the part numbers. You will also need the AUX cable if you want to use the XM Roady with Comand. Also, it would be helpful to have the instrument cluster removal tool so that you can hide the antena above/behind the instrument cluster. Don't put it near the center vents, the metal grill on top of the dash will block the sat signals.

What part of the world are you in, maybe someone that has done this install can help you locally.

I have my Roady antenna on the metal grill, and you barely notice it, at least on mine, since I have charcoal interior, it blends right in. The wire is run along the base of the windsheild, under the pillar cover and over to the unit.

That's good place for it, I had mine under the dash and it was OK most of the time but I got dropouts. Also had it in the hatch area of my coupe and it worked best there. The problem is when you put a sat antena (XM or GPS) under the metal grill. This acts as a Faraday Cage keeping signals from penetrating it.

why didn't you get the updated COMAND (2004 I think) that supports SAT Radio ?
That way it's all integrated into the COMAND display.
That's what CitronC230K_03 is doing, and it's going to be awesome !!!

I was told that the 2004 command wound not work in my car because the wiring was different, also i want XM sat. radio and the only one that works with the Mercedes 2004 command is Sirius sat. radio, it wouldnt make a difference then, would it? I have the XM in my Tc and i really like it, and i can add to my other car for only 6.99 extra a month.

Citron, are you going to get the SIRIUS sat radio? Are you doing the install yourself?

thanks guys.

No. The 04 is the same 2.0 unit with a new button. 05 is the new interior. I'm still at a loss why MB even did the 04.5 'upgrade' when 05 is what had the real goodies.
