M111 Timing Question (2002 C230K)

So I'm in the process of tearing down my motor to do the head gasket and I reached a roadblock that puzzles me.
I've watched many videos in advance to prepare me for the beast that is timing.
There seem to be 2 methods that I've seen, the one Mercedes says to use and what everyone else does.
Using the method that everyone else does, you move the engine to TDC, then count 13 teeth from the head to the tensioner where it will line up with a pin for the exhaust cam.
For the intake cam, you count 6 teeth from the head to the tensioner where it will again line up with a pin.
After doing these steps, it seems that my exhaust cam is 180 degrees from where it should be compared to all these YouTube videos.
This is what my cams look like:
And these are some of the YouTube videos I see for comparison:

Do any of y'all have some advice for this?
I can't progress with my head gasket job because I'm scared the timing is screwed up.
Thanks in advance.

Are you are just starting to take it apart or are you putting it back together?
If you haven't taken anything apart yet keep rotating the crank around until everything lines up.
It may take several rotations

I am starting to take it apart, I think I need to keep rotating the crank.
Thanks for the help.
I'm just really paranoid about messing anything up since this is my first big job with the engine, my only previous experience is a water pump and general fluid changes.

i faced the same silly mistake, thought my exhaust camshaft was 180 out of phase and was so confused, it hit me after stupidly forgetting that the cams make 0.5 rotations per 1 crank rotation. M111 runs superb now!
