Unhappy 722.6 Myster

I have a 2002 W203 270cdi
Ive been having issues with my trans ever since i bought my car, first fluid change i knew it had not been serviced in a while - black and wattery. The guy who did it ended up overfilling it and looking back i feel it may have caused more issues although with 2x fluid than normal the trans worked fine.
The issues as they are now: Jolting when selecting R or D. The display sometimes does not show what mode, gear the car is in - thats when i know its in limp mode. However on occasion it will read gears, jolting is minimal and the car shifts fine. Although when in limp mode it will get stuck in 1st or 3rd (however it feels that day) and will not upshift or downshift.
I had a MB specialist sshop change the fluid the 2nd time and they told me it was overfilled and that it had a foul burnt smell the tech had not encountered. After the fluid/filter change it was okay for a few hundred k's and then it reached its current situation - barely drivable. Funny how when it was overfilled it would act up but was drivable and mostly functional. Since the car started showing the latest symptoms i changed the conductor plate, fluid (abt 6l since i wasn't able to do a full flush), and i split and cleaned the valve body but i did not touch the shift valves.
After that the first test drive showed no improvement however sencond and third time everything was fine, now the car again does not recognize the current gear and jolts.
I checked the TCU but it was not flooded with fluid, i doubt that wicking through the wires could cause this but who knows, my current plan is to try a new TCU and or get the UltimateNag52 custom one, if that fails i think it's just easier to find a new box since every forum post ive seen on these boxes seems to indicate that they are very robust and durable but when they start acting up it can be an endless headache.
Has anyone had something similar and if so whats the best course of action? I am feeling quite desperate.
