If you hear a chain rattle around 1-2 seconds after starting the engine, especially in the morning, take a look at your engine oil filter.
If you see a dent at the bottom, this is the cause. Filter from Mann or Bosch or similar do not have a stiff plate as Hengst filter have (OEM). A valve at the bottom is not fully closed and the oil is drained over night.
When you start in the morning, the filter housing must be filled again leading to oil pressure drop and chain rattle.
I verified my finding by adding a piece of thin sheet metal from a bottom of a can and the rattle was gone, so I can use the Bosch filters I have on my shelf.
The filter housing was constructed by Hengst and the Hengst filters have a stiff plastic sheet on both sides and they are not expensive too.
