First snow fell in NE
Today was the forst time I have taken the MB out. As i was driving to work in DT hartford. i came to a red light and the CAR STOPED. EVERYONE WAS MOVING OTHER THEN ME. My little MB had to be pushed out of the middle of the road by a cop.

the OEM Pilot Sports have NO traction in the snow or any icy condition. thats why I bought some Blizzaks LM-22's. Night and Day differents. Also, get four at the same time

ya, if your running the sport package with the C7 wheels and sport tires, you ain't going anywhere :p
better to have all seasons (Michelin makes sport low profile A/S) or winter tires.

snows
my gf lives in Boston, we broke down and purchased a set of snow tires for her car too. About $500 for all 4 installed. We purchased the Goodyear UltraGrip GW3. She made it home okay today, so its good.

You HAVE to get winter tires if you have the C7's. There's no way you can make it through the winter with summer only performance tires. Ive gotten caught late in the year, thinking I could go a few more weeks, only to find myself stuck in my own parking lot at work. And yes if you still have those slippery *****es on, from a dead stop with a lot of snow, turn off the ESP until you get some forward motion.
Don't be stupid, just go buy some cheapo 16"(NOT 17") rims(EBAY!) and a set of winter only snow tires. My wife has Continental Winter Contacts on her Pacifica(the Chrome 19's are in the garage for the duration)- weve only been in the snow with them a few times, but they seem just as good as the snow's on my car. I have the Michelin Arctic Alpins for days I feel like driving the Coupe and get caught in the snow. My Jeep has Goodyear SR-A's which are pretty damn good in the snow, even though they are all seasons- but then again, 4wd makes up for any deficiency when accellerating.
In winter, its all about the tires...which wheels are powering the car is secondary.
