I've done the search thing, and came up with all kinds of info that is not relevant to what I would like to do.

Is there a star grill that will swap onto my 2005 C240?

 

I installed this grill on my 2005 C230

I expect that it will fit your C240. It has been several years since I installed it, and I don't know whether it is still available.

Is there a general concensus on what grilles fit the C240? I see mixed results when I search both here, and out on the innerwebbie thing.
There's a CLK500 locally that has both the hood button, and the grill, that would work nicely. Well *IF* it were to work anyway. LOL!

 

I'm fairly sure that the CLK 500 and C55 AMG have a slightly different front end than the standard W203 sedans. If you look closely, the nose of the car appears slightly wider. This change accommodates the V8 in the C55 which needed more space. I'm not familiar with the CLK 500, but if it has a V8, it would need more space in the engine compartment as well.

know for certain that the C55 headlights won't fit on a C230, C240 or C320 which leads me to believe that the grill won't fit either.

I'm not 100% sure that I'm correct. If someone more knowledgeable than me chimes i n, feel free to follow their guidance.
