AHHHHHH i lost my key HELP!!!

Today of all days i lost my smartkey. i dont know where exactly. I went out to eat with my mom and niece and when i get home my smartkey is not in my pocket . I looked frantically in my moms car and around my property but to no avail. i went to pizaa hut where i ate and they said that they did not find anything, whic i think is . i dont even know if there telling the truth or not . i still ahvent found it and i'm worried that i someone can just go up to my car and steal it with my key. My pops told me that he can delete the key from the cars computer so that it wont recognize the keys signature, but they still have the little metal piece so they can get into my car and steal things .

Anyway has anyone bought any smart keys off of ebay? i know i can go to the dealer but i think that will be rather expensive. so if anyone has had any experience with getin a smartkey off of ebay let me know.

THanks
BEnnie

Naw... go to the dealer and have the key made/cut. It cost $160 from Fletcher Jones in Newport Beach. They'll need your registration and 3 days to get the key. (It comes from Fort Worth, TX and the metal "traditional key" part comes separately from the Smart Key part.)

smartkey and ebay...

i was told by my dealer that you cant "re-code" a smart key that was already coded for another car.

if you want to go the ebay route... purchase a smartkey from ebay and then take it to your dealer and tell them that its not working anymore.... maybe theyll fall for it and give you a free replacement under warranty....

as far as deleting a key from the car computer... i have no clue... but if it is possible, yes the pizza hut people would be able to unlock your car via the metal key... but they would still set off the alarm

good luck
