Replace alternator, anything else?
02 C230K is having alternator issues, going to replace it, I believe it's the oem alternator. Is there anything else I should replace while I'm in there? I'll do the belts, is it worth doing the tensioner as well?

It's an easier job with the supercharger out.
You could pull it, inspect it, and change the oil, and possible the the snout
rubber piece. Not absolutely necessary. How many miles?
Occassionallu NOS ones pop up on ebay.
I've replaced mine twiice. Once as a precautionary measure ariund 140K NOS one off Ebay YEARS aggo.
2nd time, thouight it was siezed but it turned out the alternator. Off a 75K SLK. Replace it anyway.
Alternator had already been rebuilt once. I guess they used crappy bearings.
Yeah, check the pulleys tenstioners. Though they are alwways fairly easy to replace at any time.
Troubleshooting is helped by having 2 belts. Helps to narrow it down.
Take one offs start the engine. Still noisey Take the 2nd one off see if it goes away.
Use a long svrewdriver to the ear or one of those mechanic stethoscopes.
I love our M111's . Such a nice motor.
