Part number for C7 6 speed shift knob?

As some of you might already know... my shift knob came off
at the day of the delivery... the plastic clip inside knob that
should hold the knob in place is completely gone...

After calling a few dealers... they either do not have it... or have
problem understanding which knob I am talking about...

Does anyone have the part number for it?

Any parts department from any MB dealer should be able to order you a new shift knob assembly simply by entering your VIN# into their system. The system stores a breakdown of all options and standard equipment and colors of your car. Based on that, the correct part number with the correct color will be available to them without any issues. In the case of the C7 shift knob, yes, it is different from the standard knob, but by VIN# they have a way of knowing which one/what color you have now.

If yours was broken from day 1, the service department at your selling dealer should already have the order in for you, it is beyond me why they would not. Whoever sold you the car is who I would be dealing with, since they have incentive to rectify the situation or risk poor survey results by you.

There may be a delay if it has to come from Germany, but I would say no longer than 7-10 days.

If the car is not driveable without a new shift knob, and the exact part is not readily available anywhere in the USA(not surprised), I would talk to your selling dealer and let them know that you expect them to provide some type of temporary solution just to get you back on the road. They will figure something out especially if you let them know that you can not give them excellent grades on the Customer Satisfaction Survey you are about to recieve. That should get them going.

I would of deal with my selling dealer...
However they are 50 miles away and I didn't feel like
driving all the way back on a weekday.... (My work hours would
not allow me anyways)

I went to a local dealer to order the part... the service advisor
already placed an order but didn't take down my VIN...hopefully
they will get the right part...

If you're talking about the half-ball that the bottom of the shift knob attaches to, I think that's a universal part, so it won't matter whether or not you have the C7 pkg.

If course, if I'm wrong and you get the wrong part, then I'll deny everything. :p
