Winding sound from power steering....normal?
I know my '02 C230 coupe did not make this sound at purchase...but I just want to know if I should be concerned with a low winding noise in the middle of slight turns that sounds quite like when you hit either extreme end of the wheel.
Any experience with this being detrimental to vehicle health? The dealer said he could not "reproduce" the sound...yeah right! As soon as I pulled out of the service station I heard it loud and clear.

Alot of C-class owners have had that problem, including me and low power steering fluid was the culprit. You will have to remove the cover circled in the picture to get to the reservoir to check the fluid level.
