Places to put a boost gauge
I am trying to find somewhere to put a boost gauge where my dad wont find it b/c he hates whenever i do stuff to my motorcycle no he is completly paranoid about me doing anything to my benz. I was thinking of puting it in the ash tray so all i would have to do is open it and when my dad would come with me, say if he wants to take a ride with me somewhere, i would just keep the ashtray department closed. I want to know if anyone else knows of somewhere I could put it and also i would like everyone comments about the spot i have choosen.

Some have mounted them on the A pillar! Seems to look good if you get a nice gauge and not a cheap one. I am thinking of putting one on but I want one of the remote ones, where there is no wire to be run between the units.

That sounds like the best option to me. I think that you'd probably have to gut the whole ashtray area, but you should be able to get a small gauge in there that will still permit you to close the door.
You could also try to fabricate a hinged door for below the stereo, but that would probably be a huge PITA, and I'm not sure that a gauge would fit anyway.

Yeah Ashtray is a good place. Lots of room in there if you take the ashtray out. But if he got one nice and mounted on the A pillar and color coded basically to the car that looked like it belonged there that would be nice as well. But if it must be hidden then I would do the ashtray area.

anyone know where i can get a pillar pod to hold a pair of gauges? I say if your trying to hide it, stick it in the ash tray, glove box, or center consol.

Don't know of anyone doing it but try this if you are bored. You can get a new piller from MB for about $30, and strip the fabric off. Find the gauges you want and get a generic piller pod that holds them and cut and graft the pods to the piller piece until it looks right. You may have to use some bondo to make it smooth where the cuts are but don't worry about pretty, you'll cover it anyway. Then get MB fabric from a local auto upholstery shop (they can order it from various sources). Then stretch and glue the fabric on, slip the gauges in and walla! If there's enough demand I can find someone to do it for you all. I couldn't do it with my coupe because the 2002 coupe used a different fabric and was not available but the sedan A piller fabric was.

I would recommend against putting guages in the pillars of your mercedes.
Two simple reasons..
1- It will look like crap putting a plastic pod on a fabric covered A-pillar.
2- Sometimes in the event of an accident (and i admit i have to double check their location, i know for a fact you cannot on any new VW/Audi) there is the side impact airbags that get deployed out of the pillars and over the top of the door structure.
Hide it in the ashtray area.
