while its aint no benz, IMHO the MR2 Turbo is the gem of all "beater" car you can find right now. relatively modern body design (ferrari), mid-engine, two seater, rear wheel drive, great potential for upgrades and relativiely light weight. The best thing its very reliable compare to other 90's japanese "supercars" like RX7, 3000GT VR4, 300ZXTT etc
with moderate upgrade the car can run in the 13's very easily

I help my brother constantly with his project car as well:
99 miata with every momo accessory made for his car including 17 inch chrome racers and full interior work. He also has the only supersprint racing system in the US. Sounds fabulous, cant wait for mine on the coupe.

Amazing so many cars people have! I have ONE car (shared with my wife): C320. And then a bicycle (Giant) I use for commuting when my wife has the car. Actually, when I shoped for the car I drove around to the dealers on my bicycle.

Wow, I am so surprised that so many people have so many cars at the same time. I did have a friend have C32 and S2000 at the same time, but not many have more than 1 car.
I sold my Montero Sport and bough the C230K and let's about it. I do like more than just the C230. After reading so many people have more than 1 car to play around, maybe it's time for me to get another one. Maybe a X-type or a X5.
Any one want to share with me the secret of how to own more than 2 lux. cars at the same time?

We both have marketable skills and we sell them to the highest bidder. Our income is modest but our expenses are low (no kids, no credit card debt, no smoking/drinking/gambling/drugging etc.).
I work with a few guys that jealously asked me how I could afford my C230K. I got the "we must be paying him too much" comments. All of these guys (four total) are the sole income earners in their household and have at least 2 kids. They also live in houses where I live in a modest townhouse. They have to spread one income over 4-6 people. The wife and I spread two incomes over two people. Big difference.
