If it happened without any external force. Have it checked by the dealer. They have some procedures to find out if the crack was due to any object hitting the cover or not. If the guy is in a good mood, they may fix it.
Just a side note: My CD system stopped playing in my Nissan exactly at 36050 miles! Just 50 miles over the warranty!. Called the dealer and he managed to back the numbers little bit and ordered a new system. So it all depends on the mood of the guy.
