Voice Control in the 2005's?

Sorry if this was discussed in other threads, but for some reason I'm having some problems finding concrete info.

I was looking at a few voice control modules for the pre-2005's, and they all seem very reasonably priced. I noticed that MB doesn't have the voice control as an option on the car configurator page. Also, with the MOST interface, I was wondering if voice control was discontinued for 05. Does anyone have voice control on their 05? Can it be done without putting in UHI or MHI? How much are the parts/labor?

I just want the voice control exclusive of UHI and MHI b/c first of all, UHI doesn't support any phone that I'd like, and MHI is pretty pricey.

Thanks.

The V710 phone, as defined in my 11/02 post in this topic, has voice recognition. As this phone is not yet available, there is not any first-hand knowledge of how this will work.

Voice control is no longer an option on C-class cars for 2005. (CLK or SLK either.)

We can do voice control in your car without the phone kit, but it is pretty pricey. It's pretty pricey when installed in conjunction with UHI/MHI. But to do it separately would make it not really worth it.

I am not sure how you or other people use voice control, but I only use it for the phone...

I found it useful to control the COMAND ..... radio, station, band, CD selection, track selection, tv selection.

I doubt I would only use it for phone given that I can do a lot of that on the steering wheel.

Ahh, see... I can do all the radio station/CD track/TV from the steering wheel controls. What I can't do from the steering wheel controls is:

"dial number" <the number please> "867-5309" <8 6 7 5 3 0 9> "dial" <dialing> "Hi may I speak with Jenny".

If you figure out a mod with the number keypad on the steering wheel... count me in.
