Factory audio in C230
in compare to BMW, Acura or Infinity?
I'm not a big fan of hi-end car audio equipment becouse IMHO big subs kill performance
but why the hell MB doesn't include at least simple in-dash CD changer?
What aftermarket changers will work with oem AM/FM unit?
Any RF cd changer will work and you can get them for as little as $99. The only aftermarket CD changer that integrates into the DB2 fiber loop (so you can control it from the factory radio and steering wheels controls and display on the MFD) is the Becker Silverstone 2662 but I don't know if it fits in the glove box and you'll have to custom fabricate a bracket for it. For $399 it's easiest to just get the MB changer.
For the best deal on a new Audio 10 or CD changer call Gaston at autoclass.net.
The Mercedes Bose does not seem as accurate as the TT but it is OK - not for audiophiles, for sure.
Go to Autoclass.net for the CD Changer, Bracket and Fiber Optic Cable for the Bose System ($464) and pay someone familiar (call your dealer) with MBs to install for about $100 or so. Have dealer recognize the Changer on the car's computer.
