If the c240 handled as nice or better then wouldnt the larger engine make it handle like your c320, since your c320 is the same body just larger engine.

Today I was driving a (04) BMW 325xi around Boston. Handles great in the snow also, although I don't like the interior at all; I much prefer the interior of my C class.

I have a 2003 240 4Matic and love it. It is great in the snow and dry and has the best combination traction, handling and ride of any car I have ever owned. I have previously owned 2 Subaru SVXs, 2 Subaru Legacy sedans, a 1999 Audi A4 quattro Tiptronic 2.8 and a 2001 Audi S4 Ttiptronic.
The one knock I have seen on the C240 in this forum is its relatively low power. I find that it has plenty of power for my needs (I don't miss the extra power of the S4) and that it feels much more powerful than its rated HP. It is wonderful cruising at higher speeds on the highway. I will agree that when passing on a two lane road and under full acceleration into traffic from a short highway ramp its power is only adequate. The engine revs freely and is very smooth and the automatic, once it learns your driving style, works very well. The only thing is that if you almost come to a stop in the city while turing into an uphill street you need to kick the accelerator a bit to get it down to the proper gear or manually shift down.
From the standpoint of fuel economy I would expect a it to do a little better when compared to the C320. Still it is all right as a get 26 or 27 on the highway. Not sure what I get in the city.
Overall, it is a great car and I highly recommend it.
