Under driver's seat

Does anybody know what the black plastic thingy under the driver's seat is? I don't know how else to describe it. And, yes, I searched the forums first.

Thanks in advance.

If it's attached to the floor with a rearward-facing opening,it's the air vent to the rear seat area.If it's attached to the underside of the seat itself,it's probably a driver-side thingamabob doohickey.

Thank you, Steve. It is attached to the floor with a rearward-facing opening. But may I ask what kind of air vent? The air-conditioning has its own vents in the center console. What air would be vented from under the seat to the rear seats? Thanks again in advance.

Sorry, Amdeutsch, no digital camera.

Warm air when it is cold. Works in sync with similar vents for the front occupants.

if you're talking about the electroics box then it's the seat control module that controls all the power seat features.

Yep it is the rear seat heat vent. Works in conjunction with the front floor vents on most cars, not sure on the MB because they have the auto vent selelcting that trys to balance the temp in the car by selecting diferent vents based on the position of the car to the sun via the hood sensor. Also since I have never taken apart the heater box on the W203 but on the W201 it works with the front floor vents selected.

No power seats--Except the up/down and recline. Bare bones C240. Won't do that again.
