Noise in gearbox area when driving.

Noise in gearbox area when driving.
Does anyone else have this? The noise is like something touching the driveshaft, so it has a consistant rattle that increases with the increase of the vehicles speed and is not dependant on the revolutions of the engine.
Plus it comes and goes. One day I have it the whole day or for two days then it disappears for a few days or weeks. Sometimes it starts to make the noise when cornering hard then as soon as you straighten out it dissappears.
Oh and it seems to have an aversion to visiting the MB workshop. As soon as I arrive there, no noise! Can't even get it back by going on a test drive.
