Stereo cutting out

Stereo cutting out
I have an 01 C320 and lately my stock stereo will out of no where just cut the volume off. The lights are still on and I spin the volume button and nothing. So I end up turning the system off then back on and it is fine. Anyone else experiencing this or know what could be the problem?

same problem here
Same problem here except once the volume cut out it never came back on. It ended up being an amplifier. It was fixed under warranty. I hope this helps.

Thanks for your feedback. Was it malfunctioning periodically & then it finally went out or did it just one day stop working? How involved was the repair, do you know?
I'm beginning to think cars out of Stuttgardt are fun to drive and have a lot of style but are the kings of nickle & dime sht happening. Maybe I should say $50 and $100's in these cases.

the radio
It just cut out on me. It then came back on a few times in the next 48. but was dead after that.
The dealer did a temp fix that lasted one day while that ordered a radio. I brought it back in and they finally fixed it and told me it was an amplifier. It's been working great for the last month and a half.

I had a similar problem a while ago. Mine was heat sensitive. The hotter it got, the more the stereo cut out. Problem turned out to be with the actual head unit. Dealer replaced it under warranty.
