Installing headphone jack (or aux)

OK guys I've already searched the forum. I found how to install aux-in IF my car is prewired... But its not.

So... Now I want some way to install either a headphone jack or auxilary input.

I want it SO bad. And I'll be doing it my self. Please don't tell me I need some parts that are hard to find or something off the internet.

I want just a simple basic thing :p

thanks in advance.

command is the easy way. I'm willing to do it the HARD way! Lole.
I removed the cd player months ago. and there were too many wires in the back. I can't use any of them? at all?

The only factory radio for the 2002 with AUX in is Comand, even then you have to wire it into the harness. If you take the factory cassette radio (not the Audio 10 CD) and stick a cassette in it while it's still powered on, then power it off, remove the lid, cut the two wires to the motors, cut the traces to the head and solder in your aux jack wires to the circuit board and that will work but you'll lose the cassette functionality but you don't have that with your Audio 10 CD anyway. If you really like the Audio 10 then get the Audio 10 CC. Then there's the obvious, get an aftermarket radio for a couple hundred bucks that has AUX IN or better yet, an iPod or Sat radio interface and then get canbus adapter so you can control it from the steering wheel controls.

I use my iPod with my AUX in Comand many times, it's great, just do it!

wth...
ipod is around 400 bucks. (40Gb) Thats about 10,000 songs.
50 discs pack (80 minutes: about 20 songs) = 10 bucks.
400 bucks = 40 packs = 2000 discs* 20 songs = 40,000 songs.

I was thinking about 40 bucks MAX worth of equipments for the wiring and stuff. And will use my cellphone as mp3 player!

*am cheap*

The cheap way out is to get an aftermarket HU that plays MP3 CDs, then consider that you get 150 songs per CD, don't want to do the math but for $400 you can get about a quarter million songs. I just got a 50 pack of DVD+R at Frys for $2.50 (AR), then I can easily get anpit 1,200 songs for 5 cents if only they had in dash DVD players that played MP3s of DVDs.

discs are really cheap where you are. here I'll probably find an ipod for double its price!

about installing after market HU... I'll need to do some rewiring because of the fiber optics in the car?
