Right......Keep looking around the dealership and tell them.."I dont see any lines forming to buy this unit......just roll a skinny to me and bury the next guy"
no..in second thought, dont do that - you'll **** them off.
If I were you, I take the tact that you have already waited this long and all the emotion is gone now. 1. So you could get the car at the CD price, 2. order the car from CD and wait 8 more weeks, or 3. buy a BMW 330 because they have some great incentives right now. Make it THEIR decision - not yours - that way they have the consequences.
In my years of selling - it's always the people who get emotional (happy or mad) that end up getting taken for a ride. Keep your cool: It's just a car and you could get another one (easier said than done )

the emotional part will be easy, seeing that it is my wifes car, and she is quite livid, LOL

What exactly does the car go thru once it gets theres,

vdupower,
Frank R. is right. Stay cool. Remember, car prices never go up. If the price is not right, just walk away. However, if you show to the dealer that you can't live without having that car, it will be tough to negotiate. Good luck!

I've heard mixed messages about carsdirect. Maybe someone else can share some experiences. If you go to edmunds.com, you can read some user's feedback about carsdirect.

2005 C Wagon (No snickering please!)
Right now there are a number of C Class units in dealer inventories that were punched out in November and December. That means the dealers told MB that they were sold and took the $3,000 to 4,500 cash to dealer incentives on those units. Now they need to sell them. You can take the invoice cost discount 3% (dealer holdback) and toss the destination charge. Then deduct the cash to dealer of 3,000 to 4.500 (depends on model, most were 3,000, only wagon demonstrators were 4,500.) You should toss them a bone and give excellent ratings on the survey form from DaimlerChrysler so they get 2%. Only the very evil ones would return to the dealer with the form in hand, and ask for 1% worth of accessories!
The only disadvantage of a "punched out" car is that the factory warranty starts on the day the dealer took the cash. So you lose a few months of coverage.

Man.......how soon we forget! Moviela is sooooo right....the most important bargaining chip in the end is the CSI survey. Many many many people forget to use this as a bargaining tool. Tell the sales guy that if he does the CD price for you you'll "max out" the CSI survey when it comes, if not -the grades are going to reflect the difference in the deal.
Like I said - I used to sell cars and I can probably grind a better deal than almost anyone here - and I'm tryin Carsdirect this time. I have a partner at work who used them for his ne honduhhh akkord EX and I did not believe the price or his service story. But after several weekends where every dealer we visited was holding out for gross, I really lost the motivation - so I gave CD a try.
The car is ordered, no money down so far - only a credit application. Took less than an hour in total, there was no negotiating because I paid the price it showed on the website. After we determined that there were no heated seats cars anywhere nearby, he placed the order.
I'll be interested as the who is the MB dealer they use.

I am assuming these were on 2004 models correct?
