Just wondering if anybody remembers which thread contained information on the option packages that are rumored to be available for the U.S. launch? Thanks!

Thanks! I was asking because I noticed in another thread, the OP mentioned that the car he saw at W.I. Simonson in LA had the seat controls on the side of the seat rather than on the door like on most MB sedans. I was wondering if maybe if the buttons move to the door when a seat-memory option is added since I have seen photos of the car that show the controls on the door. I guess we will have to wait and see...

multimedia package

from the mbusa website, the multimedia package with command has "6-disc in-dash DVD changer that allows for DVD-audio and video playback"
i want to see this video playback. i wonder if its just basic dvd movies or if its avi capable (i doubt it but one can hope). but damn, even just dvd's filled with mp3s...
4gb HD for cd ripping
i didn't see any mention of a pcmcia slot.
i'm just still on video playback...

From what I can see there is something I like. It will be possible to order a C300 Sport with the 6spd MT and 4Matic. There is a combination never before seen.

Yeah that appears to be so, interesting.

What I'm waiting for is the 2009 engines. Then we'll likely see a big push on the C350 and more versions like a Luxury model and 4Matic.

I'm getting excited for this car. I remember my 2001 C240 and I loved it. This is a perfect car for my travels up and down the east coast. One quick question on the above specs. I plan on ordering a C300 sport with the P2, Multimedia and 4matic. Is the AMG cladding (side skirts, etc) only available on the C350 or is it just the AMG trunk lid that is exclusive to the C350? Thanks for the valuable info.

Would you rather that they make it standard and just add the cost of leather into the base price? This is a global car, not everyone wants or can afford leather.

lexus is a global car as well, as is infinity... i just hate how the germans nickel and dime me for frickin EVERYTHING...

BMW is just as guilty with leatherette... for 32k+, an automobile should have leather... how are you going to make lumbar support, and bluetooth standard, but not give up nice seats which EVERYONE can use...

I will take a wait and see apporach. I am just frustrated at my first "raping" charge on this new Benz

Not quite, there are factory standards then there are USA standards. MBUSA determines what it wants as standard equipment for the cars working it out with Germany to determine supplier need, etc. You think the 07 C230 comes with the AMG pkg everywhere in the world? Take a quick trip to Canada and that will answer that question.

Was told today that Option Package P1 will US$375 and the iPod Integration Kit will be US$375 for a C300 Sport.

Still no word on MSRP for the C300 Sport.
