Locally here, MB's HK$8500 Keyless Go before tax, which is still cheaper than BMW's Comfort Access HK$10000 before tax.
Tax is 100% 100% Taxable car options were introduced a few years back when the local economy was bad (during SARS time).
An ill tradition being, our local MB and BMW dealers ( ) are addicted to rape consumers on adding car options, especially these so called new "keyless" technology.

from your new information I have extrapolated that as a U.S. consumer, I cannot neccesarily convert your pricetag into my currency to find what to expect on my end. Thanks you for the clarification. I am sure MB will try to stay competitive with the other guys in the American market.

Well, I would be very happy if the 18" AMG wheel package stayed under a grand though... haha

Forget HK.. we pay 180% tax on cars here a c350 with amg, pano, leather and command costs arround 1.15 million danish kroner = 197523$ USD.

Despite the fact that Denmark ranks among the 5 richest countries in the world, we have very greedy tax policies here.

It makes me want to buy one tommorrow
Considering a C230 2500cc W203 selling ~USD100000 in Thailand, with exponential tax increase along with engine capacity over 3 litre, the C350 W204 can be estimated ~ USD190000. Correct me if I am wrong, I thought Demark and Thailand are pretty close in terms of wealth(GDP), ~30th in the world. But definitely both have horrible automobile tax policy.

Close in wealth? Denmark ranks as the fifth richest country in the world based on GDP and if Thailand ranks at 30th place then I cannot see how they're close in any sense. Anyway I payed almost 1.3 million danish kroner for my ML = 233000USD, for that amount I could have bought 3 cars in our neighboring countries Sweden and Germany!
