'08 C-class pricing for U.S announced

The pricing of '08 C-class for U.S has been announced. Click here to go to the site.

The '08 C350 is cheaper than the '07! This is amazing. Now I'm having a dilemma. Should I get the C350 or the C300? What do you guys think?

The only thing that dissapoint me is they remove the star on top of the hood.

I agree with you. I would prefer a sport sedan with traditional hood star. Ironically for years modders have been removing hood star and adding coupe grills to their sedans, now we will just have to do the opposite. I will say that in person the grille star does look nice with the AMG body styling.

It's still unclear where bluetooth and keyless go options are.

Bluetooth will be standard. I'm not sure about Keyless-Go; however, I hope they make it standard as it will make the product more competitive with the Lexus competition.

i have no choice because only the C300 can be ordered with a manual trans but if you don't care about that, you should go for the C350.

It appears that Mercedes is really trying to be competitive with the C-Class prices. The options list isn't too bad and the standard equipment is unprecedented for a C-Class. A C350 the way I would want it is just a hair under 45K, right inline with a loaded IS350 or 335i. Too bad they offer more power though. Something tells me there is going to be somewhat of a rush on these cars for the first 6-8 months at these prices.

Like said above, bluetooth is standard, but we still are not sure about keyless go. Im sure it will be an option, but highly doubt it will be standard. You can expect to pay around $45k for a fully optioned out C350 sport. For those that don't know, there will be 3 different models: C300 sport, C300 luxury, and C350 sport. I'll be doing a test drive through my dealership in two weeks and will write up a review and hopefully be able to take some pics.

The dilemma I'm having is whether I should get a C300 sport with all the packages(including navigation) or a C350 with only P2 package (P1 package standard). I'm still deciding on that.

I have invitation to test drive it in August. So I hope to resolve all options questions at that time too.

Unfortunately keyless go is not going to be available for 2008 MY in the US. A very stupid decision in my opinion.

Great, I think we all look forward to it. Are all the dealers supposed to get their demo in 2 weeks? I know they were supposed to get one for test drives in advance of the actual release.

Yes, it's too bad not having keyless go, Lexus, Infiniti and BMW offer such option. It's certainly will harm sales numbers for new C, since Benz was always a leader in luxury features and if I do not mistake first proposed keyless go. So now it's losing leadership.

Option? Keyless go is standard on the Infiniti G35 and Lexus IS 250. On the BMW 3-Series, it is a $500 option, but push-button start is standard. Heck, even the Suzuki XL-7 and Nissan Altima have standard keyless go! Mercedes-Benz has no excuse for not making this feature standard, though I give them credit with great pricing on the new model.

As you said, Mercedes-Benz was first with Keyless go. Though now the feature is standard equipment, for example, on every single 2008 Infiniti, and has already found it's way into sub-$20,000 cars. They are losing leadership, Keyless Go should not be an option on any Mercedes.

Personally, the one option that I really care about is the "Advanced Agility Package" that was supposed to be available upon debut. This package is supposed to feature an computer-adjustable suspension set up and a "Sport" button that firms up the suspension and sharpens the throttle response when four newtons of force is applied upon it.

Has anyone heard what this option package will entail and its cost?

I didnt expect massage, but they should at least have cooled, even though MB "cooled" seats suck.

MB has to be aggressive with their pricing because their competitors offer more features for less. I also don't forsee a lot of sales on the 350 because it is simply underpowered compared to the likes of BMW, Lexus, and Infiniti. The C300 should be a solid seller however.

I'm very happy with the performance of my 2006 C350 but I have a serious question about the 300's performance. I want the comfort of the Luxury model but won't buy one if I feel the 300 engine is underpowered.
Since they are still bringing in 350's I can't see any reason why my dealerer shouldn't be able to order one in the Luxury model. I really feel let down by MB's marketing decision.

This is why I need to get a job with MB and make these marketing decisions becauase I don't know what they are thinking most of the time.

This is the second largest market for Mercedes-Benz outside of Germany and we have the fewest models. I also think Mercedes should make options available "for order only" or something. There could be certain options that they do not typically bring in, such as Parktronic on a C-Class etc, but that one who is willing to order the car and wait can do so. This way they make a little more $ on options and the customer can be secure knowing that everything on their car is covered by manufacturers warranty.
