i dont think i can live without that feauture...
i know it sounds ridiculous, but the car is for my mother and she really uses that feuture a lot on her current W203.
Since, many people drive the car and not just her, its a big deal not to have that feature.
does anybody know if it will be an option later or what. she was planning on a very well loaded C350 sport and now thats drifting away

Probably because in the US every single person has their own car.
Also, this is a C-Class, you aren't chauffeured in a C-Class in the US, so you are likely to drive this yourself. And since everyone has their own car, nobody's going to screw up the seat on yours, so you probably don't really need one.
Now, the only thing you'll have left to worry about is the valet screwing it up.

After owning over 40 MB's, if the W204 doesn't have memory seats
I POSITIVELY WON'T BUY ONE! Do they continue to think of C Class buyers as "entry level" buyers who are willing to put up with a minimum of features to keep the prices down? For many of us, the C Class car is a "destination car" that we buy because we prefer it over the larger models. I own one because I have a choice.
For me, I have owned three W211's and never enjoyed any of them as much as my 06 C350.
The so called marketing people in Montvale have done some very dumb things over the years but if they won't let us have the seat memory it has to be a new low for them. Pray it isn't so...

No memory on the seats?1?
I'm new to the MB universe, the W204 caught my eye and I'm thinking about making the jump from my normal Audi/BMW buying (*if* the new A4 doesn't intrigue me). Usually I'm an early adopter and end up buying the first model year.
Is this normal practice for MB to trickle in options over the first year instead of have them all available at launch?
With the e90 BMW trickled in some just a few things, and that wasn't normal. I've had memory on my seats since 98, seems inexcusable that MB doesn't have them on at launch on a car made in 08.

I just checked the official MBUSA announcement for the US cars and the interior photos clearly show a plain wood panel with no seat controls. I guess they figured that the C230's sold so well without the seat memory that they simply didn't have to bother with it in the US. It's one thing to have items that will have a delayed availability due to manufacturing but to believe thay can cut out the seat memory completely.
I have been very excited to get a W204 to go along with my 06 C350 but now that is completely out of the question. I feel like they are treating us like children where thay know what we need.
I have owned MB's continiuously for over 50 years and to think that it will now come to an end over such such a stupic marketing decision.

W203 slightly modified
Maybe some bundle package includes the memory seats.
To get the parking aid with tilting mirror you can ask MBENZNL or SUNMAN for a parts upgrade.

Still, since everyone in a household seems to have their own car in the United States, I don't see much need to get memory seats. You can live without it without too much difficulty. Who else drives your car anyways (besides the valet).

Ok this memory seat thing is quite strange. The demo I drove at the dealer this weekend (C300 Sport Sedan) did not have the memory seats. But both the C350 Sport Sedan and C300 Luxury Sedan I saw at the NY Auto Show had them as did the C350 I sat in at MBUSA's headquarters lobby. The side views are to show you that all models were definately US spec since they had the orange side marker lamp that is unique to our country. Pictures below to add to the confusion on this topic:

I don't really understand the phiosophy of the marketing people in Montvale. Why is it that they want to limit US customers on option choices for the C Class that would be legal in the US and available in most other markets? Why do they offer items like seat memory, xenon tracking lights, keyless go and parktronic on the E Class. Do they feel that an E Class buyer is in a different class than a C Class? Do the
E Class buyers need these features or is marketing trying to tell us that if we want those features we must "move up" to the E Class? I have been there having owned 5 ea W210's and 3 ea W211's. I simply believe the C Class is a better all around car for me. Switching from my E350 to a better handling car with no SBC brakes and still have the 350 engine was "moving up" for me. Why do they offer more items to a German buyer than a US buyer? There is something wrong in this marketing strategy. It's one thing to not have the engines of the competition but to hold back on options makes no sense.

W203 (sold), W204 (sold), W124
The demo cars that we have for test drives do not have the Bi-xenon package. My guess is that this package will include the memory seats.

Your only other option would be to acquire the C63 AMG which I'm sure will include memory seats.

I could go back to an E350 like I had before my C350 but for me that would be a step backward. Of course, that may be what MBUSA people want me to do.
