Multimedia Package

Hey guys,

I'm new here and had a couple questions...

Is there a significant difference between the standard sound system in the C300 Sport vs. the Harman Kardon system in the optional Multimedia package? Is the standard audio still Harman Kardon?

Also, when are C300 Sports with the multimedia package arriving at dealers?

Thanks in advance.

I'm sure there's a significant difference in the way that the bass is louder and the sound is clearer. As for the standard sound system, it is not by Harman Kardon. The C-classes with multimedia package should be arriving around the mid or end of September.

Thanks for answering my questions. Now the only question is whether to get the car now minus the multimedia package or wait until September.

I planning on getting it w/o the Multimedia package because I plan on getting subs put in my car anyways, so might as well use that $2,000 instead towards buying speakers, subs, amps, and an head unit w/navigation...All that will sound WAY better and will cost me about the same.

Not a problem at all. I would suggest that you wait till September to get the multimedia package as it is worth your money. I ordered mine with the multimedia package and it will be built on 08/20 and reach my dealer around the mid or end of September.

GPI got it right, Multimedia package is a must in this car, I know you might not want the speakers but this car must be ordrered with the multimedia package, has a lot of awesome features.

Sure. I got the reef grey interior. I just wanted a change in my interior (my current interior is black).

Is the 8/20 build date confirmed? I was informed that the car would be built with the multimedia package starting 9/1, and expected delivery would be around mid-October.
I've had a deposit on this thing since February. I better get the first batch of multimedia package c350's!

This car is driving me crazy!

I'm pretty sure about that. But I'll be going to the dealer tomorrow and I will check it again.

Multimedia availablilty

<<Also, when are C300 Sports with the multimedia package arriving at dealers?>>

Production of cars with Multimedia begins in September. Then add the shipping time which in the case of Seattle is six weeks. And, my production date of Sept. 1-10 has slid to Sept. 21-30. And, I have the #1 slot at my dealer for such a car. It's going to be the end of October before I see the car.

Wow. That's longer than I expected. Did you have to put money down when you ordered your car?

Deposits

<<Did you have to put money down when you ordered your car?>>

Sure. I placed the usual $1000 refundable deposit back in January because I thought the car would show up around May. Hah! What that finally bought me was the first production slot for a Luxury with the Multimedia package. Or so I was told.

huge difference between the base system and h/k...

the h/k is every bit as good as the S-Class system (even a bit better on bass because the car is smaller)

...worth every penny

...and with navi, it'll play DVD movies in 5.1 channel sound....dolby and dts

another big advantage is the screen. i saw some of the 5 inch screens and was not impressed at all. you had to push a button and the cover simply springs up. then to close you must manually push it down. not very MBish in my opinion.

if you can afford it, multimedia package is definately the way to go

I played with both today. The 4.5" (according to the Window sticker) is cheesey. Like you said, not very MBish. The 7" system is better than I expected. Opens and closes with style. I just hate the fact that it is another dirt and dust repository. The controls, although not perfect are pretty easy to use, it will just take some re-education to get used to.

Well I hadn't considered the dust...was too busy thinking of using the voice command system for everything and feeling the need to order the package.

i just think it is a must in a 40K car. some people insist on leather and memory seats, i care more about the gagets.
