LCD screen

I know the multimedia comes with the 7inch LCD screen but what if you don't get it? From what I heard you get a 5inch NON-retractable LCD screen, can anyone confirm this and if so is there pic? Thanks.

Yes, correct a 5" Screen that doesn't retract, but still gets covered. A pic below:

Only the 7" can erect and retract. Not for the 5".

the 5 inch screen comes standard here as well...i was not completely accurate when i called it "retractable" because it is simple covered up by the hood. the 7 inch screen is complete retractable and is an option included with the multimedia package.

I guess anything is possible, ask Steve from MBenzNL, he would know. It does look like COMAND retrofit will be more difficult with the W204 than the W203.

not sure if the dealer can simply replace that one for you as it appears to be pretty complex. best bet would probably see about getting an after market system put in later (although that may be difficult as well). i'd ask your dealer and see what they can do, especially if yours hasn't been built yet.

Throwing in an aftermarket system looks like it's going to be all but impossible.

I agree, but am no expert in that stuff. That's why I'm waiting to see what is and is not going to be available after Aug 7
