Memory seats

When your 5'4" wife gets out of the car and you (6"1") try to get in and the rain is coming down, memory seats and power steering column moving things out of the way for a quick fit is priceless.

Are the tires all-season? When I looked at mine I forgot to check on that. Have a great time with the new car.

I guess I'm a little more lucky? My wife is 5'2, but I'm only 5'5. But it doesn't really matter anyways, as it's her DD. I have my little BMW M roady and my Ford SVT Contour to drive, which she cannot, because they're both manuals!

As for the tires, they're Michelin 225/40-18 and 255/35-18's. I want to say they're Pilot sports, but cannot say which ones right now, because the wife has the car at work. I will look tonight to confirm make/model of tire. I also believe they're high/max performance summer tires, but again, I cannot confirm.

I saw the spoiler on the 350, it's very nice, and I may get one at a later date.

Nice video, thanks for the link!

Picked up from Penske MB in West Covina today. It's a great driving car so far, but already, I cannot get the Sirius radio to stay on "All Channels". It will stay with whatever was last chosen. I guess I'll be visiting the stealer sooner than later.

I'm hoping to learn a lot over the next few months from all of you!

I'm considering the same White with Grey/black interior...are you happy with it? Do you have any pics showing the contrast between the white exterior and the interior?

I personally love it! I think the two-tone looks so much classier than simple (read: plain) black. I'll try to snap pictures by tonight when my wife gets home.

thanks...i really like the savannah (tan) in the 300 lux, but i'm leaning toward the 350 and it isn't available in that. and it is much too hot for black where i live. so i'm hoping the two-tone will lighten things up a bit. my only concern was the black/grey contrast against the white exterior

I called my dealer and asked him to check the tires. His reply "They're Conti's". He has no clue.

Thanks for the extra pics....I like the contrast. I think my mind is made up on the color scheme. White exterior with Grey/Black interior and the Birdseye Maple trim.

Dion, congratulations. We're all proud for you. I'm two months away from trading mine in for the 300. The 350 is too expensive and I just got word yesterday from one of the captains at my dealership that Mercedes is going limited edition on the 350s because they over shot in pricing for the North American market. He said it's not official news yet but that's the information they're getting from mbusa. Btw, this post has got to go down in forum history as the longest multi-quote.

Even the sticker just states "black/grey leather", so I don't really know if there's any other grey.

NP, I actually love the tires on the car, and will probably switch to those on my M roadster because my current tires on that car are almost gone.

It looks even better in sunlight! I'll try to get pictures after I clean it up during the day.

I'm impressed by the standard stereo, and this comes from a guy that has a full-tilt system in one of my other cars, that is bi-amped, with subs and separates. I only heard the HK in the demo car with the Navi upgrade and it sounded really good as well, but I didn't get to really test it out.

Even as of today (8-11-07), carsdirect.com doesn't list the 2008 on their website, and I had a friend put in calls to FJ motorcars and Laguna Niguel (where he worked as a tech) and didn't get a call back from his contacts either. I don't think pricing will fall until December...just in time for the holidays!

LOL
Thanks again! I'm pretty proud of ourselves as well, as this is our first MB and a great choice of car (I made the suggestion on car and packages, my wife chose the color). As for pricing, the 350 is fairly more and I know that I couldn't justify the extra costs involved for a car that appears to only have a bigger engine and not much else. The seven speed really makes the car peppy and keeps the engine in the power band well enough.

As for my posts, sorry, but I find it rude if I'm ignored, so I don't ignore anyone...LOL.

As a forum owner, this philosophy should be a standard in posting etiquette. Very well said.
