Wheel offset

Guys, can a set of wheels with an offset of 38 front and rear fit a W204 C300?

1) You are not indicating wheel diameter and width.
2) I posted the available offsets for the W204s and they are quite a bit larger than the W203s.

No, 203 wheels cannot be used on the 204.

I'm not referring to the W203 wheels. I was considering to get the E63 rims and they have an offset of 38 front and rear. Will they fit to the new W204?

I believe you need offset like +45 or bigger, +38 may not fit on W204 !

C63 wheels?

<< I was considering to get the E63 rims and they have an offset of 38 front and rear. Will they fit to the new W204?>>

Considering the over $3000 price just for a set of stock AMG 17" C350 wheels, I would not be brave enough to ask the cost of C63 wheels. Aside from that, a magazine road test of the C63 I just read said that AMG had designed special hubs for the car. So the question cannot be answered without a fit check.

And then there is the tire cost. Better go to tirerack dot com for that.

Wheel offset for W204's run between 45 and 55.
To make your wheels with a 38 offset fit is to use a wheel spacer of at least 7mm to get to a 45 offset. Wheel spacers (at least quality ones) only go up to about 15mm and that will get you up to an offset of 53. This is applicable if you are intending on using a wheel that is no wider than 8.5".

I have a set of BMW CSL replica wheels made for Audis (5x112 8.5, 38 offset) which I intend on using on my future C300 and I also happen to have a 12mm spacer which should fit just nicely
Quality wheel spacers should run about $80-120 per pair.

Another thing to think about is that you will need to add tire pressure sensors to your wheels, which runs about $360 per set.

TP sensors

Seems to me that I read in the Introduction to Service manual section on the TP system that if no signal is received (no sensors installed) , the system is silent.

if u add a spacer, you technically reducing the offset. The lower the offset the more it sticks out from the fender.

Actually the lower the offset the closer the hub is to the centerline of the width of the wheel. Most cars (especially European cars) run a positive offset which means the hub runs towards the outer edge of the wheel width. It is rare to see a negative offset and negative offset are often very small.
This diagram should clarifiy things:

WTF? your two posts seems in conflict with each other...that is, if you're
still maintaining that by using spacers, you're increasing the offset. I agree

Sorry my bad, I'm confusing myself!

I get it, adding spacers will move the hub of the wheel further inward (negative), and pushing the face of the rim outwards.
So if you mount a wheel with an offset of 38 that means the face of the wheel/tire will stick out 7mm more than a wheel with a 45 offset (with the same wheel width), yes?

I think the wheel wells of the W204 have enough room to accomodate another 7mm, is this correct?

Thanks!
