European Delivery ?

Trying to confirm the following. My dealer said that beginning in Sept 2007 that the C Class, W204, will no longer be available for European delivery because it will be built in South Africa. Any truth to this?

Thanks

Yes up to 70% of US cars will be built in SA, but Euro Delivery is still available check MBUSA site Euro Delivery pricing for W204 is there. So highly unlikely they are pulled after two months.

The c350 will be built in Europe. You can do ED on that model.

Dont look at the pricing that MB shows on there website for European delivery. What you need to do is find out what the European dealer invoice is on your car and the options you want. Then ask the dealer to tack on anywhere from $800.00 to $1200.00 to that. But be advised that you will have to go to Europe to get the car. I am doing that on my bmw 335xi coupe. See the way BMW works it is like this. The discount they show on the website gets reimbursed to the dealer where you ordered the car from. So if the discount is say $3000.00 the dealer gets that plus the $800.00 to $1200.00 they tack onto the european dealer invoice. Its a win win situtation. The dealer make between $3800.00 to $4200.00, the car doesnt come out of his alotment, no finance charges to the dealer and you get a car about 11-12 percent below MSRP. But like a said you need to pick your car up in Europe. If you dont want to make a vacation out of it then fly in pick you car up and fly back home that same day. The plane tickets are like $500.00. My dad did that on his bmw 535xi. And his payment was $598.00 per month with $2500.00 out of pocket for 24 months @12k miles per year. But then again bimmers residual is higher and their money factors are a lot lower. My car has a MSRP of $46800.00 and my cost is $40,800.00.

Your dealer is lying. He is probably trying to move one of his cars rather than have you do Euro delivery. There is a cutoff however, so if you don't start the process in the next few weeks, I think you have to wait until January 2008 for pickup in Europe.

2008 R350 & 2008 C300
Just ordered my C300 Sport 4matic,(not European delivery) and with everyone talking about where its supposed to be built thought I would ask my salesman. He confirmed to me that the order went into Germany, it will be built in Germany, and shipped from Germany. Anyone else got info on this, as to where your car is built and shipped from?

By the way, its October and all the C class models are still available for European Delivery.

My C300 is scheduled to be built 5/30 in Germany (Bremen?), I pick it up in June in Sindelfingen.

My guess is that they won't completely switch over production of the C-Class to South Africa. They will probably start to shift it though so that more than half of them for the US come from SA. Of course Euro delivery cars will always come out of Germany, and the C63 AMG should always come from Germany.
