Oil Filter
Does anyone know where the oil filter is on the new C? I don't see it on the top in the engine compartment pics, is it inside the cover?

The oil filter is a pleated polyester cartridge. It will trap particles down to .5 micron. Metal particles found in Mercedes engines are almost nothing. The clean precision manufacturing along with fleece oil filters keep particulates far below what they were just a decade ago.

Save your money, there is no way to attach this magnet to the oil filter. I doubt it really does anything helpful, but some people wear a magnet on their wrist and claim amazing health benifits.

MB doesn't discourage DIYers at all! Dealer perhaps, but not MB (as much as the dealer). Heck, I think MB even sells Service DVDs!
