MB Inventory Tracking...Pretty Impreessive
So I ordered my new 350 Sport on 9/18 and decided to stop by the dealership to see if they had any idea when I could expect it. From reading some of the other posts, I was figuring that I'd be waiting 12-16 weeks. Much to my surprise it was in the factory and getting on a boat this week! My sales guy showed me their inventory tracking system and was even able to pull up the build info, the name of the vessels that each of the vehicles were on, when they got to port, and so on. Pretty kewl stuff if you ask me...

My dealer goes above and beyond any other dealer I have ever been in contact with. Back in 96 I ordered a C Class special order and was waiting patiently when I saw on the news that a ship carrying cars sunk! Ha ha imagine my horror, so I called up the dealer and they did a trace, luckily my car wasn't on there.
Was just at the dealership this weekend looking for a car, they used Netstar and could track a car anywhere durring its production cycle. They can search inventories at other dealerships, whats at port, whats on the water, and whats at the factory holding lot.
