Audio Control Dial - it stopped responding?

My car does not have the Multimedia package - just the basic audio.

This morning the rotating dial/joystick (?) placed on the arm rest stopped responding while in any audio mode, be it broadcast sirius, AM, FM, or CD mode. Can't tune to anything by rotating the dial, can't change modes by moving it as a joystick... it just won't do anything. I don't have access to the user manual to see if it's in a weird mode.

Most I could do was cycle power to radio, engine, lock, unlock, blah blah.. no difference.

Anyone have any ideas? Last time it was functional was when it was last parked in the evening. It stopped working when the car was started the this morning. Anyone have any ideas if it is in some kind of a mode?

P.S. I can change presets using the audio controls on the steering, and I can change audio modes using the Radio button on the dashboard.

Thanks for any ideas.

I was showing some friends the MM package one night...the next time I started the car, non of my MM works.

entire radio section is dead...can't use the dial or open the screen.

I haven't started trouble shooting as I'm at work, anyone know where the fuses/relays are for the system?

My cluster nav stuff just shows "----" , same with the audio section.

if anyone has insight...I'd appreciate it before I dig in.

TIA

DId you press the ON button on the Center console or tried to press the button on the MM screen hood , if its closed.

Both of you guys problem sounded like a defect. Go to dealer if after fidling around with ON OFF it does not work.

Remeber not to use MM for a long time if the car engine is not running.

On my car, with standard audio, the display cover has to be open for the mouse to work.
