I plan on keeping the car for at least 5-8 years unless for some reason i strike it rich before then... was thinking about adding the extended warranty to get me to 100,000 miles...
is it worth it if I am keeping it till 100K miles?
on average, in that much time, do you think it will pay for itself?

Too soon to know whether it's a good idea or not since no one knows what problems may show up once the cars are in the customers' hands.
You can can buy it later, in the first year.
Picked up my car yesterday and today the MM package started acting up, all sound (FM or AM) sounding like I was listening to an AM station 100 miles away. On/off fixed it.
Ominous.
The extended warranty on my '01 C320 certainly has paid off, numerous times. But, that's a W203 and their poor reliability in the early years is well known.
You can can buy it later, in the first year.
