Summer Locking / Unlocking

I read in the manual that if the lock /unlock button is pressed than all the windows will roll down and moonroof will open automatically. Same for locking the car from outside if the locking button is pressed on the key.

I tried this last night but it didn't work, am i doing something wrong ? Anyone else try it?

thanks

You have to point the IR on the key to the IR receiver on the driver's door (the little black square on the door handle).

I know.. it sucks that it doesn't work with the key's radio frequency.

i know im in W204 forum but I just wanted to know if it applies to W203 also?
in my mannual, it says that if I press if for 2 seconds, al the windows including the sunroof will open. Bur my car does not have an IR sensor on the door handle.

I think you have to aim your key at the door handle, drivers side door is fine and HOLD it pressed down until all windows and sunroff are either closed or opened.

It is a great feature when the car stood in the hot sun. Now you can ventilate the whole car immediately.

I don't use this feature very often but it's nice to have.

I dont get it. Why would MB install an IR system just for this feature when they could have use the standard RF on the key (like everyother car maker), and it would be much better since you can open/close the windows without pointing at the driver's door.

Safety, they want you to be in the sight of the car when you use this feature.
