I can tell you that I am surprised that the salesman even calls you, because they told me that their allotment is sold out up to April-May 2008 delivery.

At this point, $ 500.00 discount is about standard and the spoiler is a bonus. But does the sport package, which is added at no charge, not include the rear deck spoiler?

Maybe ask for rubber winter mats.

Good luck.

Only the C350 comes standard with the lip spoiler. Also Im trying to decide If the $2200 for 4matic is necesary. If I should or not. I've only had a daully that was rear wheel drive never a car?!

I went for the 4matic, and it'll be my first AWD. My wife has been driving AWD cars (not SUVs) for the last 10 years, and would not consider getting anything else. Had an IS300 (RWD) -- winters were a challenge. The TL (FWD) was better. Bear in mind that AWD only helps you to get moving... it does not help you steer or stop. That's why winter tyres are necessary, regardless.

Just picked up my car today. In addition to the $1000 rebate being offered from MB Canada, I also got a "Loyalty Bonus". If you're not a repeat customer, and want to deal now, you can get $1000 (rebate) + $1000 (negotiation) off MSRP.

Alternatively, you can wait a few months and see if things cool down at the dealership. They are selling Jan/Feb deliveries right now. So you might be able to wait until Dec/Jan to order.

Or do European Delivery, get 7% off MSRP, and a drive on the Autobahn.

The only reason for the 4matic is for the wife she's only ever had front wheel drive for the snow and not used to rear wheel drive. Although she does drive like an 80 year old when it snows she'd might be better off with 4matic. what about lefts and right turns i know that rear wheel drive love to fishtail. How is it on something like the c300 with it's stability control programs?

Lastly... any fuel consumption rating fot those who have a c300 4matic? is it alot worse than with out?
Thanks.

Time will tell if the RWD fare well in the winter... but AWD will always be more effective in putting power to the ground. Stopping and turning are purely in the domain of the tyres, not the drivetrain.

As long as she doesn't jab on the gas mid-turn I don't see why she would fishtail. Drive sensibly and install Winter tyres... she should be fine. Especially if you are in the city, where the road get plowed pretty quickly. I opted for 4Matic because of peace-of-mind and my need to drive out of town for work.

I'd expect to see a hit of about 0.3 L/100km between the 4matic and the RWD. The AWD running gear is pretty efficient in most vehicles nowadays, so there is minimal loss.

None at the Moment (considering C300)
Smile

I too have been lurking on this informative site in the last little while. I would also be interested in hearing experiences of others who recently purchased in Toronto.

I contacted a local dealer here in Toronto, and could also only obtain a small discount off MSRP. Additionally, the dealer wants to charge an admin/ectching fee in addition to freight and PDI.

Also, is anyone holding out for the GST rebate next year?

Thanks in advance.

Might help you make a choice if you know that you can't get the six speed manual C300 with 4matic. 4matic is 7speed auto only. If you were looking at getting another manual transmission that is.
