I'm going to omit the rest of this and just say that unskilled drivers like this one driving cars they are unfamiliar with at these speeds are the ones I see on the 7AM news several times weekly. Not just killed but obliterated.
Just this AM, a new Golf crossed a centerline on the Interstate penetrating the center barrier, in the rain and over 100mph and hit a Freightliner semi nearly head on. Instantly killed and from the looks of it totalled the tractor.

you are kidding?
hmmm.. How'd I know this was coming???!

seems to me like ATSOBE is a critic-magnet... lol
anyways...
+1 ATSOBE
... it might not be the ultimate driving machine MB has built, but I agree on the general thought of your thread.
"Around here, you gotta love what you drive"

"Around here, you gotta love what you drive"Im not trying to hate... but he made it sound like he was were driving a C class with a 65 motor!

If you're talking about some A5 3.0TDI or bmw 335d than this 2 put the C350 behind, specially the 335d.
165kw/440Nm 6speed auto, 1840kg kerb weight.
factory claim 7.3sec 0-100kmh
i must have missed something here. my maths makes it slower than the c320cdi.
i do concede there is lots of petrol engines that are quicker, however the point i was making was that the 320cdi challenges perceptions about diesel, and specifically it challenges these perceptions in the US, where there is a greater focus on petrol.

7g-tronic on 320cdi only gives more acceleration, at high speed it gears are too short.
No more talking diesels, c350 is way faster than the c320cdi, dont look only to the numbers, an 270Hp petrol engine is way faster than a 225hp v6 turbo-diesel, beside is torque and good power.
PS: c320cdi top speed is 260km/h audi A6 does 280 like the bmw. (on speedo, not sure if its real!)

Last Friday, I drove 800 miles to Alexandria VA (lots of smokeies on 85n and 95N in Virginia) and then Monday and Tuesday drove the 800 miles back.
I have to say that the C300 was built to be driven at 80 and above. It has the feel of a heavier automobile with lots of control. (In my opinion) its a better highway car than a city car.
I also noticed that at 70 ish, you still have a lot of peddel left.
As to the 130 mph limiter, I thought the limiter was at 155 with a total potential without the limiter of 165mph. The 130 mph figure is thrown about because the H rated tires are rated for 130 mph. I guess in a way H rated tires do limit you.
