Nice vehicle. Are you going to lower it? I remember driving in Syndey last year that the streets are not too good. Whereabouts are you?

Also, is it only the grey interior that comes with the grey headliner? I have the black interior and its got a black headliner. Very cool looking IMHO (used to be available on the E46 BMW as part of the sport pkg)...

Very nice! The wheels on there look sick! I like those better than our AMG 17/18 rims over here in the US. But they put the steering wheel on the wrong side?! Sorry, lame I know, but I couldn't help myself...

This is almost as complete as a W204 can be... the only missing I can see are AMG package (it is avantgarde but not AMG), rear side roller blinds, multicontour driver seats and driver knee airbag... many options listed are not available in USA and Americans are drooling...

Just curious, does your car come with flashing braking lamps in hard braking situation with hazard lights on after stopping from 70mph?

Is it me or do those wheels look like they are sticking outside of the bodywork?

No the C280 (your C300 equivalent) was the highest model available in Australia until last month, when they introduced the C320CDI. No plans as yet for C350 in Australia, although the C63 is destined for our shores by mid to late next year.

Thanks for the compliment.

No plans as yet to lower it, as i still need to maintain some ride comfort, esp since going to lower profile 19s.

The black/grey interior comes with grey headliner, whilst the black/black interior have the black headliner. The only way to spec a grey interior with black headliner would be to option an AMG kit. This will give the car the AMG sports bodykit exterior and metal trim interior looks (which comes in your C300 and C350 sports model) but adds a few other things such as bigger front brakes, steering wheel paddle shifts, sports seats etc.

I love options and added almost all except the AMG kit ( as i am unsure whether i will be upgrading to a C63 myself later next year ). Hence, i didnt want 2 similar looking vehicles. The only thing i would have maybe added from the AMG package would have been the paddle shifters.

Multicontour seats and Advanced Agility Control have still not arrived in Australia. I would have likely optioned those. And rear flashing brake lamps also are not available as yet. However, i would unlikely add these as i dont think it's a good idea letting the highway patrol cars see flashing brake lights if I had to wipe speed rapidly. Also, I dont want to stand out from the crowd with flashing brake lights.

Finally we also dont appear to get knee bags, or the "active" bixenons which swivel in the direction which you turn steering wheel (the active lighing i wouldnt mind optioning) .... so i guess you guys arent the only ones suffering from lack of options.

I think if you were after the ultimate in looks, a half inch drop would complete it. I havent got this mod done yet as I'm unsure how much ride quality I'd lose in doing so.

As for the tires appearing to stick out, when i went around the car, at some angles it looked to be sticking out slightly, but when i go and look straight down over wheel arch (aerial view), they definitely do not stick out. And with the 265's at the rears (to give the car a more masculine/sporty look), the offset at 44 on 9.5 inch wide rims only gives it about 1cm clearance from suspension components on the inner side. So i guess if you were worried about the "slight sticking out" looks from certain angles, you may need to find the same wheels with maybe 50mm offset at rear, but this will bring it perilously close to the suspension components from the inner tire edge.

Thanks all for the kind compliments.

The car is a dream to drive, and as you know is full of electronic gadgets to play with. We're still trying to perfect linguatronics for things like telephone/Audio/navigation controls. It recognises about 50% of the commands but still not quite there yet, so we're unsure whether it's us or the system..

Bluetooth pairing with the Nokia N95 was a breeze and works really well. With the SAP adapter, the address book gets downloaded into the phone system and can be recalled via the linguatronics or I-drive knob. It also enables SMS messages to be read out loud if you choose.

I got to listen to some Mp3s burnt onto a DVD disc and it was great. I's say a notch above the Harmon Kardon system on my wife's old W211 E320. Sound is clear with very good staging ........ we love it !

The only problem I have now is the 1000 mile break in period..... I am not used to driving it at bus like speeds and cant wait until it gets past this stage, then on come the "sprint boost kit" for improved accelerator response (as it worked well in wife's old W211 E320).

Thanks all for the compliments. I'm in the process of getting the AMG sports pedals retrofitted. It seems that you cant just replace the rubber face of the accelerator pedal with that the metal/rubber studs of the AMG ones. Instead, the whole accelerator block assembly needs to be removed and an AMG one put in it's place. Has anyone done such a conversion ? I know you guys in the US get this as standard equipment on you Sports model W204s, so I dont think i'll get much help here. The park and brake pedals are no problem to upgrade though.
