Is the new C-Class a chick car?
What's the consensus?
I think most people who call it a chic car would say the same thing about any entry level luxury car. To them "real men drive S class" or "AMG".
Most on this forum either have already bought one or are considering it. Most on this forum are also male, and I doubt any of us consider ourselves chic car drivers. This isn't a VW Cabrio (or even a W203 coupe), it is a mid-sized 4 door sedan.
Of course many women will buy and drive this car, but many women buy and drive 3ers, A4's and TL's as well, not to mention that over half of the E's I see on the road now are driven by women.
I'm a guy and my C350 is definately a chic car....because my chic really likes to see me in it....

But who really cares
as long as you enjoy what you are driving
it just how you personalize yours, if a chick drives it its a chick car
if guy drives its a masculine car
i personally wouldnt even consider a E class, i think its too big and too much of a "family" sedan, exception to AMG's of course however I like the W204 as the styling is really defined, sporty and fun to drive.
ive seen a few on the road (GTA area) and so far they have been the luxury model.
enjoy the car
i cant wait till mine comes!

Chick car? Not really. I find the C to be quite gender neutral. Maybe I can call it asexual? On the daily tours I have given for my co-workers
neither the guys nor the girls have said anything about it... and these people have no problems calling it as they see it, trust me.
But to either their own... I am happy with my car, and that's all there is to it. I am sure we can have the same discussion over either my Integra, IS300, and TL were chick cars too.
I think the escalation in gasoline prices has redefined what cars are preferred by men or women. A lot of men are reconsidering their choice of a large vehicle that gets only 12 mpg. Driving a smaller car has become acceptable for all.
I have never considered my Mercedes C230k to be a "chick" car, especially with the sport package and manual transmission. I have received many compliments from 20-something males on its styling. The women also seem to like it.
In my opinion, German cars in general are designed to appeal more to men than women. But a lot of women buy them too.
I am always proud to drive an Autobahn-bred German car, whether it be Mercedes, BMW, Volkswagen, Audi, or Porsche. Also, I am 6'4" and weigh 225 pounds. Most German cars have interiors big enough for me (headroom and legroom); whereas most Japanese and American cars are a bit small inside.
Just the white ones.
